It’s back! After world events forced the cancellation of the 2020 Candlelight Tour, the Marietta tradition returns for 2021.
Marietta Restoration Associates will host the 55th Candlelight Tour of Homes on Sunday, December 5th, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eight private homes decorated for the holidays will be open for your viewing pleasure.
In addition to the homes, your ticket will include entry to several historic buildings in Marietta. The Old Town Hall Museum will be open for visitors to check out its unique collection of historic Marietta and Lancaster County memorabilia.
The Union Meeting House will feature: Christmas music played by organists Ken Krause and Kirk Garner on the 1847 Knauff Pipe organ located in the gallery of the meeting house. Flutist Deb Poling performing for your entertainment. Dance demonstrations exhibited throughout the day. Make-A-Wish ribbons to be sold to benefit that organization.
First National Bank (housed in a historic bank building) will host ticket sales, provide restrooms, and feature the Marietta miniature home of 2021. The Marietta Community House will host a Christmas Market in Studio 264 at the rear of the property.
As you wander about our quaint town, be on the lookout for the Jane Austen Society who will be strolling the streets in Victorian Era costumes. Most of the tour sites and houses are in close proximity, however we do offer free shuttle bus service for your comfort and convenience. There will also be a trolley running up and down Market Street.
